Bob Johnson Construction, Inc./ Lester Building Systems — First Place
Gun manufacturer Rock River Arms, Inc. received a five-year contract with the DEA and needed a building in a timely manner. What was formerly a parking lot is now a new office space, loading docks and expansion of the warehouse. Three separate buildings were designed to tie together the existing manufacturing plant and the existing warehouse. Post-frame construction was chosen for its flexibility in fitting on the lot, the price and also being able to start with little lead time.
Eversole Builders, Inc. — Second Place
This building for Crop Production Services is used as a seed processing facility. The building’s centrally-located tower allows for a steel superstructure to process, clean and count seeds, and then dumped them into semis for delivery to farmers. Post-frame was chosen for speed of construction; owners wanted a facility up and running in a limited timeframe. Lower cost per square foot and low-maintenance were also considerations.
