‘Bring the whole crew’ to Expo 2010

Anticipating  prosperous days ahead, National Frame Building Association is encouraging its member companies and the post-frame industry to “bring the whole crew” to the 2010 Frame Building Expo. The show will be held February 17-19, 2010 at the Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, Ky.

Keynote presenter Paul Montelongo, a nationally recognized speaker who has built two multi-million dollar construction companies over the last 28 years, will set the tone for the Expo. Montelongo’s engaging stories, based on his practical, no-nonsense businesses experience, communicate how building team responsibility and personal morale are necessary to help increase sales, improve customer relationships, and strengthen the business.

The 2010 Frame Building Expo is a once-a-year opportunity for post-frame industry professionals — builders, engineers, architects and suppliers from across the nation — to get together and share ideas.

Attendees can visit the bustling exhibit hall, where 130 exhibiting companies will be showing a great range of new products and equipment. Choose from among the 25 stimulating educational classes and informational sessions, presented by experts in the industry, on important topics relating to business management, sales, marketing, safety and design. Also, enjoy the show floor demonstrations, contests, food and entertainment.

What you will learn

Educational sessions will include topics that should
not be missed. Offerings will include these topics:
• standing seam roofs;
• solar roofing panels;
• post-frame diaphragm design;
• post-frame building performance;
• alternative foundation products;
• continuous load path transfer;
• corrosion resistance;
• green buildings;
• designing 2-3 hour post-frame wall assemblies;
• business financing ;
• succession planning; and
• proposed legislative changes affecting safety practices.

Attendees will qualify for NFBA Accreditation Units (NAU) credits by participating in educational sessions. Those credits help their companies qualify for the NFBA Accredited Post-Frame Builder (APFB) program so it can demonstrate high professional standards and get the competitive business edge.

All this and fun, too!

Builders will have fun and demonstrate their skills at the Screw-Driving Competition sponsored by Atlas Bolt & Screw and the Nail-Pounding Competition sponsored by Maze Nails.

Don’t miss the free hospitality rooms  sponsored by Plyco and Wheeling on Wednesday and Thursdays nights. Then, be sure to be present for the Grand Prize Drawing to win three free hotel nights and full registration at the 2011 Expo.

Trade show attendance is free for builders, building material dealers, design professionals and others who do not manufacture products. Manufacturer personnel and marketing agents pay a small registration fee to attend the trade show.

NFBA members may attend educational programming for modest registration fees. Currently-enrolled post-secondary students, faculty and code officials may attend educational sessions at no charge, if pre-registered.
