Pipe Guard is adjustable
OMG Roofing Products
OMG has introduced the Height Adjustable Strut Model PipeGuard for applications requiring support for multiple small pipes in one location. Diverse and flexible, it can be used for a wide range of small roof-top pipe applications, including gas and refrigeration lines, electrical and solar conduit as well as HVAC lines. The system is compatible with PVC, copper, cast iron and most other pipe materials, and is adjustable, with a wide base for stability. The heavy duty EPDM rubber base will not damage roofing covers and helps to dampen pipe motion due to vibration. Each unit will support up to 160 lbs.
Radiant Shield Pro Plus
Radiant Shield Pro Plus, a reflective vapor barrier with 3M peel-and-stick adhesive, is the latest addition to Insulation Solutions, Inc. product line. An alternative to traditional vapor barrier materials, Pro Plus features a cross-woven UV-inhibitor coated skin that gives the building interior a bright white appearance. The closed-cell foam core will not pop, crush or lose air over time. Seams can be easily and effectively sealed with the built-in adhesive that helps maintain the integrity of the seam bond by resisting temperature swings.
Radiant Shield Pro Plus was tested for flame spread and smoke development according to ASTM E 84-09 and carries a Class A fire rating.
Angle grinder gets safety boost
Metabo Corporation’s new 6-inch WB11-150 Quick Compact Class Angle Grinder offers advanced braking technology, making it one of the safest grinders available. When used in conjunction with grinding discs, the brake stops the tool within three seconds, and in less than 1.5 seconds with thin cutting discs.
The WB11-150 Quick features a secure “racket” grip and dual grip zones for comfort, ergonomic handling and additional user safety. The tool’s anti-vibration handle absorbs up to 60 percent of the vibration, lowering the risk of white finger syndrome.
Power tool accessories
Bosch Power Tools
Bosch Power Tools and Accessories introduces a full range of accessory products specifically engineered for use with impact driving tools. The new Impact Tough family of accessories is built for electricians, HVAC contractors, remodelers and deck builders.
Accessories in the line include insert bits and power bits (Phillips, Square and Torx); nut setters (1/4- to 7/16-inch); sockets/socket adapters (5/16- to 15/16-inch socket outputs, 3/8- and 1/2-inch square drives.
Redesigned line splitter
DeWalt has launched Quadraport Regulated Line Splitter (D55040) for professional framers, roofers, trim carpenters and contractors who use an air compressor on the job site. The new model features innovations designed to solve common issues associated with line splitters, including pressure drops, inaccurate readings and durability problems. The D55040 features an impact-resistant resin body, liquid-filled gauge and robust handle to ensure that the product can withstand job site abuse. Handles and sidebars are positioned to protect the couplers and the plug for added resilience to high impact drops.
The product encourages splitting near the job site by using a 3/8-inch inlet fitting, and the gauge allows users to retrieve a PSI reading close to the tool. For added flexibility, the regulator permits two different pressures at the job site, and the Quadraport is factory assembled and tested to guarantee that there are no leaks or pressure drops.
The pressure’s on now
New from Makita is high pressure pneumatics technology that increases air pressure created in the compresor and delivered to pneumatic nailers. A new 2.5 high pressure air compressor, 2-1/2-inch high pressure siding coil nailer and 3-1/2-inch framing coil nailer meet the demands for larger nails, higher capacity and versatility in range of materials, including the dense engineered lumber used in framing construction.
The AC310H air compressor has a 1.6 gallon tank but provides the capacity of a 5-gallon tank at 120PSI, with less noise and smaller size for easier transport.
AN610H siding coil nailer operates at 140-320 PSI and is 30 percent more compact than conventional nailers and weighs only 4.2 pounds while holding up to 400 nails. Its easy-load canister adjusts for various size nails.
Like the AN610H, the AN611H operates at high pressure but can drive larger nails into dense materials such as OSB, LVL and glulam. It holds 300 nails.
High-powered LED light tower
Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com offers a 14,400 lumen LED light tower. Dual 90-watt LED light heads are affixed on a removable mount head, supported by an eigh-foot collapsible tripod. The 180-watt WALTP-2x90Y has area illumination equivalent to a 1000-watt metal halide light tower and can be configured to project 180 watts of bright, white light in a long, narrow spot or wide area flood mode. In flood mode, the wet area rated LED light covers as much area as a 1000-watt metal halide light. The dual 90-watt LED light head is removable from the collapsible eight- foot industrial grade aluminum tripod and can be collapsed into a three-foot, eight-pound package for portability.
The WALTP-2x90Y can be operated from standard US 110V power or 12/24 Volt DC power. Thus, the WALTP-2X90Y LED light tower can be operated from a standard US wall outlet or from a standard or military vehicle.
LED lamp ideal for inspections
Spectronics Corporation’s powerful Spectroline TRITAN 365 is an ultra-high-intensity, multi-LED, broad-beam UV-A inspection lamp that features three ultra-hi-flux UV-A LEDs for NDT inspection, plus a white light LED to illuminate dark areas. It produces a nominal steady-state 365nm intensity of 5,500 µW/cm at a distance of 15 inches (38 cm). This versatile lamp meets MIL and ASTM intensity specs for FPI and MPI.
Compact and lightweight, it weighs 16 ounces and has a three-way rocker switch to allow easy control of the light sources and a lightweight, angled lamp body to ensure fatigue-free inspections.
Also available is the TRITAN 365M portable, battery-operated AC/DC lamp kit with rechargeable NiMH battery pack with adjustable shoulder strap and belt loop, AC cord set, smart AC charger and UV-absorbing glasses, in a padded carrying case.
Performance plus ergonomics
DeWalt launched its 12 Volt MAX Lithium Ion 1/4-inch Screwdriver Kit (DCF610S2) as part of the new 12 Volt MAX cordless platform. DeWalt says it is able to drive 207 2-1/2-inch cabinet screws on a single battery charge. Weighing only 2.2 pounds, it’s compact and lightweight, built for less user fatigue and comfort in overhead applications. Additionally, the screwdriver’s small size allows contractors to access tight areas easily.
The screwdriver also features a reversible belt clip for portability and a 12 Volt MAX Lithium Ion battery at the bottom of the handle aids balance. Three LED lights positioned around the hex of the screwdriver eliminate shadows and provide improved visibility in dark areas.
Available in the fourth quarter, it’s expected to retail for about $139.
