2010 Metal of Honor: Petersen Aluminum

Petersen Aluminum Corp. was founded in 1965 as a metal service center to the architectural metal industry. The focus throughout the years has been customer service. Petersen Aluminum strives to provide products of the highest quality with reliable lead times. A strong national sales base allows PAC to maintain large inventories and provide cost economies to its customers.

In addition to its Chicago-based headquarters, Petersen maintains full production facilities in Annapolis Junction, Md., Tyler, Texas, Kennesaw, Ga., and the newest addition to the family in Fridley, Minn. Petersen maintains extensive roll-forming equipment in each of its regional facilities. Each roll-former produces panels which have been Herr-Voss corrective leveled, providing superior flatness. Standing seam panels are factory formed in lengths up to 55 feet. Matching flashing and trim also may be factory formed or field formed from PAC-CLAD material.

By having full production plants strategically located, PAC can produce any size project and meet the scheduling needs of its customers. Petersen offers a wide range of services, including design, budgeting, onsite inspections and support after the project is completed. With a complete technical staff available to answer questions, Petersen can work out the details and avoid possible problems down the road.

Petersen’s extensive line of architectural metal products include: Metal Roofing Panels, Snow Guards, Wall Panels, Composite Wall Panels, Column Covers, Soffit, Coping, Flashing and Trim. The latest additions are PAC-Continuous Cleat Coping System with ANSI/SPRI ES-1 Approval and several new Exposed Fastener Panel profiles. All products are available in the PAC-CLAD full PVDF finish in 37 stocked colors in steel and 36 stocked colors in aluminum, covered by a non-prorated 20-year finish warranty.

Petersen recently launched its green website — www.pacgreeninfo.com — a significant resource for all things green in the metal roofing industry. The website features information on PAC’s dedication to developing sustainable product offerings, as well as to provide the most up to date information on industry innovations in the design of green buildings. The PAC-CLAD Cool Color palette formulations meet Energy Star, LEED, and/or other cool roof certification requirements for solar reflectance and emissivity ratings.

Petersen Aluminum also introduces the PAC Solar Series, which combines the flexibility of a thin laminate photovoltaic with the durability of its high performance standing seam roof panels. The result is an efficient and affordable solution towards achieving ultimate sustainability.
