Alpine receives HUBZone certification

Designation as a HUBZone certified small business concern (SBC) has been awarded to the Vermont based manufacturer Alpine SnowGuards. The HUBZone Empowerment Contracting program, enacted into law in 1997, encourages economic development in historically underutilized business zones — "HUBZones" by providing access to more Federal contracting opportunities.

“We are excited and prepared for our next growth phase as an established leader in the snow guard market. This designation will give us a leg up in our marketing efforts to secure government contracts,” says business owner, Sandy Stearns. Alpine SnowGuards has been serving the snow retention needs from common to custom since 1992 with a respectable portion of projects being government buildings.  “Our sister company, EcoFasten Solar® has seen a steady growth in the need for roof bracketing solutions for solar panels. We anticipate being able to qualify this business as HubZone certified as well.”

To qualify for the program Alpine SnowGuards had to meet all of the following criteria: be located in a "historically underutilized business zone" or HUBZone, be owned and controlled by one or more US Citizens, and at least 35 percent of its employees must reside in a HUBZone.  Alpine SnowGuards is now eligible to receive HUBZone contracting opportunities and will be included in the listing of qualified HUBZone SBCs at
