Roofing professionals participating in the 2010 International Roofing Expo are encouraged to arrive in New Orleans a day early and roll up their sleeves to give back to the New Orleans community.
Community Service Day, held Sunday, February 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is a home renovation and revitalization project that will be performed for a family that is elderly, disabled or financially unable to support the renovation. The exact family in need will be assigned closer to the event.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the local New Orleans community and truly make a difference to a family in need,” says Donna Bellantone, Director of the Expo. “The renovations made to this house will make a real difference in the lives of the family.”
To help with the renovations, skilled volunteers are needed from a variety of construction disciplines including roofers, general contractors, project managers, home inspectors, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, masons, plasterers/drywall, HVAC, tile setters and others.
Donations are also needed in the form of money, as well as products and materials to help with the renovations. Manufacturers donating products and materials will be able to ship directly to the Rebuilding Together warehouse in New Orleans. Donations will also be accepted after the show from exhibitors who choose to provide their product displays.
A significant financial donation was provided by Sika Sarnafil, the event’s sponsor. Sika Sarnafil, located in booth #2311, offers roofing and waterproofing systems that are widely recognized for exemplifying the highest standards of quality, reliability and watertight protection.
To host such a rewarding and fulfilling event, the IRE partnered with the New Orleans chapter of Rebuilding Together.
"We are very appreciative of the exhibitor and attendees who have signed up for this terrific event,” says Bill Good, executive vice president of NRCA, the show’s official sponsor. "It’s a win-win situation for all involved. I encourage all our members to come out and support this effort."
Attendees and exhibitors will be able to register for this event at the same time they register to attend the show at www.TheRoofingExpo.com <. There is a $25 fee that includes lunch and transportation. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be asked to sign a Waiver of Liability Form.
The 2010 International Roofing Expo will be held February 22-24, in the D&E Halls at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana USA. Visit www.TheRoofingExpo.com or contact Show Management at Info@TheRoofingExpo.com, 972.536.6415 or 800.684.5761 for more information.
