Metal roof coating completes the ‘vision’

In these tough economic times, architects, builders and contractors need visionary suppliers more than ever before.

Today, Englert is introducing SunNet PV Blue — the first standing seam metal roof coating designed to complement the color of the company’s SunNet (BIPV) photovoltaic laminates. Now architects can design a structure where the photovoltaic system is invisible from street level and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

The new coating is the latest refinement in Englert’s development of an integrated system that incorporates an  UltraCOOL metal roof,  solar photovoltaic laminates and a solar thermal system. Together, these technologies help customers create structures that reduce their reliance on conventional energy resources.

Five years ago, Englert offered at no extra cost an UltraCOOL metal roof coating that deflected sunlight, saving owners 20 to 70 percent in annual cooling costs.  Today all of Englert’s 26 standard roof colors are Energy Star and LEED compliant, allowing customers to choose a sustainable roof without having to sacrifice color choices and aesthetics.
These materials and technology are now being applied throughout the United States. Englert’s standing seam metal roofing remains the platform of choice for most of these integrated roofing systems throughout the country.

SunNet solar standing seam roof with Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) uses self-adhesive quarter-inch thick laminates that are virtually invisible and provide all the electric energy the average home requires year round. A Dawn Solar thermal system mounted under the Englert Solar standing seam dramatically reduces the cost of heating hot water. Together, these integrated technologies are reducing homeowner energy bills from 20 to 80 percent a year. And the same thermal technology can be reversed in winter time, sending warm liquid back to a snow covered roof where the standing seam metal heats up, melting snow quickly and efficiently.
Englert Environmental also offers architects and builders the option of an integrated system of standing seam metal roofing with  solar photovoltaic crystalline panels featuring heavy duty anodized frames and weather-resistant junction boxes for easy and safe field interconnection providing a reliable source of power for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Solar panels are attached to an Englert standing seam metal roof by brackets, which enable an entire array installation without a single penetration through the roof’s surface.

The company continues to set its sights on producing environmentally smart products and solutions to help solve the environmental issues facing our planet and its natural resources.

“We hope that Englert will always remain innovative,” notes Tom Dyszkiewicz, senior vice president of business development,” recognizing that change can be rapid and that evaluation and continuous improvement will always be needed.”
