Kansas roofers form association

A group of Kansas roofing contractors has organized the Kansas Roofing Association.

The association, founded by 10 roofing contractors, will focus on improving the status of roofing professionals across the state by directing attention to local issues, addressing training and safety needs and fostering communication among all segments of the roofing industry. Membership in the organization will be open to roofing contractors and providers of services and products to the roofing industry. Voting members must be domiciled in the state of Kansas.

Officers elected include president Kurt Steinkuhler, Geo Groh & Sons, Emporia, Kan.; vice president Steve Douglass, D V Douglass Roofing, Inc., Garden City, Kan.; and secretary/treasurer Jeff DeMott, Martin Roofing Company, Inc., Wichita, Kan. 

Directors include Ron Boone, Boone Brothers Roofing, Olathe, Kan,; Larry Booze, Larry Booze Roofing, Wichita, Kan.; Mike Budenbender, Premier Contracting, Kansas City, Kan.; Chris Foley, Martin Roofing Company, Inc., Wichita, Kan.; Ed Frederick, Buckley Roofing Co., Inc., Wichita, Kan., Kevin Gwaltney, Diamond Roofing, Dodge City, Kan.;  Mark Gwaltney, Diamond Everley Roofing, Lawrence, Kan.; Rick Gwaltney, Diamond Roofing, Manhattan, Kan.; Kevin Wray, Wray Roofing, North Newton, Kan..

Kim Swartzendruber, former executive director of the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association will be the group’s executive director and Kurt Baumgartner, Martin Roofing Company, Wichita, Kan,, will serve as advisor.
