Membership brings leads

The Metal Roofing Alliance has been working for 12 years to raise consumer awareness of residential metal roofing. Since the effort began, the market has tripled in size and is expected to keep growing. Our national marketing program generates thousands of consumer leads each year through our website:

However, the number of the MRA contractors needs to grow significantly to keep up with the demand created by the alliance. For a small investment, roofers can become members, be listed on our website, receive the most cost effective local sales leads and take advantage of tools to help grow their business.

Leads today
The key strength of MRA is the pooling of resources from metal manufacturers, materials suppliers and contractors to develop a comprehensive marketing program that creates demand. All of these components are critical to the effort’s success — no one manufacturer or contractor could afford to spend the dollars it takes to have such a significant national impact.

According to a 2008 study performed by McGraw-Hill Construction and Analytics, metal roofing now represents 11 percent of the re-roofing market. When MRA began its national marketing campaign in 1998, metal only comprised 4 percent of the market. The survey findings projected residential metal roofing demand would increase to 1.4 million squares for new construction in 2009 and 13.4 million squares for repair and remodeling. The potential is there, and MRA will help you to reach it.

Terry Lamb of Sunshine Metalworks in Oxford, Ala., says, “I’ve been an MRA member contractor for three years and have received thousands of targeted leads through the Find-A-Contractor Program. It’s a great system because it allows me to receive metal roofing leads from four surrounding states. Definitely the best money I spend in marketing my company each year.”

Growth for tomorrow
In addition to growing your business now, membership is an investment in the future of metal. If you’re planning to be in the business five or 10 years from now, you’ll want to be sure there are customers who want to buy your product.

MRA has been supporting the industry for a decade, educating consumers and raising awareness to make every residential sale a little easier. MRA member manufacturers are the leaders with the vision and the passion to build the market. They’ve invested millions of dollars to grow market share. They deserve your business.

“If your metal roofing supplier isn’t a member of MRA, encourage them to join. Let them know you want leads in your area and all the benefits of membership,” says Bill Hippard, MRA president. “If your manufacturer won’t join, please consider purchasing from an MRA member instead. By investing in the industry, MRA’s manufacturers ensure your immediate and long-term success.”

Join MRA
The MRA now offers three different membership levels, Bronze ($400), Silver ($1,000) and Gold ($2,500), with varying benefits to meet any contractor’s needs.

In addition to supplying targeted leads, all MRA manufacturers offer free or low-cost training to contractors who will be installing their products. Member contractors can also access marketing and training tools on the MRA website. For example, if you’re doing a local advertising campaign, MRA can provide professionally produced ad templates, and even a TV commercial, that you can customize with your company’s information. MRA’s installer training package, a direct marketing program, financing package and estimating software are also available to members.
