Each year 7 million new roofs are installed. The number of homes with metal roofs has more than tripled over the past decade, moving metal from 3 percent of the overall U.S. market share to 10 percent. Because of this demand, the Metal Roofing Alliance is partnering with Dave Yoho Associates, America’s largest and most successful residential sales consulting company, to offer sales training programs for veteran and new salespeople. These programs are produced exclusively for 2012 METALCON contractors and they deal with issues roofing contractors and home improvement experts face every day in outselling and out-marketing their competition.
“2012 METALCON is introducing a new educational format which takes sessions from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. This new format offers more in-depth learning opportunities both in the classroom and on the exhibit floor,” says Bill Hippard, president of the MRA. “I believe contractors will find these seminars insightful and extremely useful as they try to improve and grow their companies.”
The first session, titled Open Your Mind to Sell More Business, will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Brian Smith, a senior account executive with Dave Yoho Associates, will present this seminar and he’ll walk contractors through the Step-by-Step training Course for Sales Management. Smith has traveled across the country teaching in-home sales techniques to home improvement contractors. Seminar participants will receive the workbook, The Science of Successful In-Home Selling.
The learning continues on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with the second seminar, Beyond Rehash: How to Increase Your Business by 67 percent Without Generating More Leads. This seminar will be lead by Tim Musch, senior development officer and founder of Market Sharp. Market Sharp has developed an outstanding suite of customer relations software for the home improvement industry.
Participants will discover how to more effectively turn “casual inquiries” about their products into solid, set appointments and they will learn how to increase closing ratios by twenty percent. Musch will also share ideas on how to squeeze up to 67 percent more business out of existing leads.
The seminar series finishes with a dynamic presentation titled, Don’t Blame the Economy…Its’ Your Sales Presentation! This session will be presented by Frank Farmer, a METALCON veteran and founder and president of American Metal Roofs. Participants will learn how to improve sales simply by developing a power-packed presentation.
This seminar series will give contractors and home improvement experts the tools and techniques they need to improve their close rate. In fact, contractors will be equipped to sell at least one more job per week with the same number of leads when using the techniques taught in these seminars.
