Petersen Aluminum covers medical camp

The Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, Ky., is a world-class medical camp designed specifically for children living with medical challenges that would prevent them from attending a traditional camp.

More than 50,000 square feet of Snap-Clad panels from Petersen Aluminum were utilized on multiple buildings at the $16.3 million facility.  The 24-gauge panels were finished in Award Blue to provide continuity and a bright look throughout the campus.

The 140-acre campus is open year-round and includes an onsite medical center, equestrian center, bowling alley, indoor aquatic center and gymnasium.

Construction for the design/build project was done by Hardaway Construction, Nashville.  “It was a pasture before we started,” says Wayne Sharp, senior project manager.  “But what a great outcome for the kids!”

Given the multiple buildings involved, the project was bid in phases according to Sharp.

Two roofing contractors were involved in the installation:  Gunter Construction Roofing, Scottsville, Ky., and Geoghagen Roofing, Bowling Green, Ky.

Long-recognized as an industry leader in metal standing seam roofing products, Petersen also offers exposed fastener panels, flush panels, composite wall panels and column covers.  All provide the well-known Petersen quality and are available in 37 standard colors on steel and 36 standard colors on aluminum.
