Steelscape recognized for going green

Steelscape understands the importance of minimizing our “environmental footprint” in the communities in which it operates. To that end, Steelscape has accomplished a number of environmental enhancements at its Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., facility.

One specific environmental effort at the Rancho Cucamonga facility was recently recognized by the Inland Empire Utilities Agency…

•    The Rancho site was publically recognized for the compliance efforts of the water discharge system.

•    The Certificates of Recognition are awarded annually to industries who are significant industrial users (greater than 25,000 gallons/day), who have complied with all sampling, discharge, and self-reporting requirements.

In August, Steelscape’s Rancho Cucamonga facility launched the “Green Team”, an in-house committee focused on environmental improvements within the local community and in-house.  The Green Team is focused on environmental projects that will reduce Steelscape’s environmental foot print.

The mission of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency is to supply imported and recycled water; collect, treat, and dispose of wastewater; and provide other utility-related (renewable electrical energy, compost) services to the communities it serves. The agency strives to provide these services in a regionally planned, managed, and cost-effective manner
