While many builders are pondering over whether there is really enough serious money in tiny houses to warrant jumping into the market, one company in Salida, Colorado, is forging ahead.
In a press release, Sprout Tiny Homes (OTC PK:STHI), announced its collaboration and partnership with WeeCasa, known as the world’s largest tiny home hotel and resort, located on the Saint Vrain river in Lyons, Colorado. WeeCasa has 11 Sprout Tiny Homes in its resort and is collaborating with Sprout to expand the tiny home resort model in other strategic destinations in the U.S.
The press release further noted that Sprout has also acquired 19.2 acres in Salida, Colorado, located in the Rocky Mountains. Salida annexed this acreage into its planned Unit Development District (“PUD”). The Sprout development, known as RiverView at Cleora will consist of 140 long term lease properties and 60 overnight unit rentals.
Sprout homes are built with structural insulated panels, but the company also builds shipping container homes and said it recently designed, built and delivered a prototype container home for a major air flight training school. “The company expects to deploy several more homes to house pilots and personnel at the new training facility,” Sprout said, adding, “This validates our proof of concept as we expand our tiny home building vertical to include shipping container conversion as a popular option for modern homes.”
