Boral doubling manufacturing capacity to keep up with demand

Boral is doubling the manufacturing capacity for its TruExterior® Siding & Trim to help fulfill rapidly increasing demand for these exterior product lines. The poly-ash siding and trim are manufactured in Salisbury, N.C., where Boral recently added a 120,000-square-foot finishing facility. The expansion will ensure the company can keep up with the current pace of growth, and it will also allow for continued product line development with Boral’s Innovation Factory, including the highly anticipated 8-inch and 10-inch Bevel Siding profiles coming this fall.

Along with the new facility and equipment, Boral is adding up to 23 new employees in Salisbury.

“Unprecedented market interest and adoption of Boral TruExterior® Siding & Trim is driving a rapid expansion in our dealer and distributor base,” said Ken Bruns, Plant Manager. “By adding equipment and employees, we’re ensuring a steady supply of siding and trim across all profiles to meet the needs of existing and new end users.”

“This investment is consistent with Boral’s strategy for growth in the U.S., leveraging our innovative platform to help transform the U.S. business,” added Brian Below, President – Light Building Products Division.

Featuring the revolutionary poly-ash technology, Boral TruExterior® Siding & Trim addresses both the moisture- and movement-related issues commonly seen with other exterior materials with real workability that exceeds that of wood, creating a balance of performance and aesthetics that cannot be found with other manmade alternatives. Multiple siding, trim and beadboard profiles are available; they ship primed and ready to paint.
