A couple hundred people partied in a tent on the front lawn at Leland Industries Inc. Scarborough, Ontario, home in September as the manufacturer celebrated its 25th birthday.
What began with two bolt-making machines in 1984 in 2,000 sq. ft. of rented space has grown to occupy 155,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, warehouse and office space on a 10-acre campus.
Leland is the dominant supplier in the agricultural market for grain bin and storage buildings in North America. What started as a product line for the agricultural market has expanded to include fastener products for Commercial and Industrial Construction and Metal Roofing.
Even during the current downturn in the economy, Leland has maintained full employment.
Leland has seven sales and warehouse branches strategically located across the U.S. and Canada to serve the North American market and also services accounts in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Leland has been involved in racing for over 15 years and has sponsored NASCAR in Canada since 2003. Three NASCAR racecars were on display, with drivers and crews available to answer questions and to promote the sport in Canada.
Party guests included Leland customers, guest speakers, suppliers, local and federal government representatives omc;idomg a member of Parliament. Leland’s charities were represented, Canadian Diabetes Association and S.A.S.S., a school association of student songwriters, established to provide an outlet for 12-18 year olds, and now established in more than 100 schools and growing.
