S-5! unveils two new attachment systems

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. —  S-5!®, the well-respected international authority on ancillary attachment technology for the metal roofing industry, is proud to announce its two newest innovations: The X-Gard™ pipe snow retention system and the S-5! Utility System. Both systems can be attached to every major standing seam metal roof profile without damaging the roof and voiding the roof manufacturers’ warranties.

S-5! XGard and Utility System

At the 2014 International Roofing Expo (IRE), S-5! presented, for the first time ever, the X-Gard snow retention system to attendees. No other pipe snow retention system on the market has proven stronger than X-Gard.

X-Gard spans up to 48” and can be purchased as a one- or two-pipe system, depending on project specifics including pitch and snow load. It was designed to be paired either with locally-purchased round pipe, or, for superior holding strength, the patented NEX® 2.0 pipe.

Its innovative double-clamp design allows X-Gard to provide unprecedented holding strength when attached with S-5!’s standard or even mini-sized clamps. The employment of two clamps with each bracket and the unique shape of the NEX 2.0 pipe enable a properly installed X-Gard system to provide a reliable snow retention solution in a wide variety of situations.

Concerning snow retention, Haddock adds, “We have made a substantial investment in testing and proving the durability of our snow retention systems. We have a track record of over 20 years with more than 3,000 miles of successfully installed snow retention systems in the U.S. alone. We offer a Certified Engineer Stamp program, an Online Project Calculator, and the only optional limited System Warranty Program in the industry.”

The other new product S-5! unveiled at IRE is the most versatile utility mounting solution for standing seam metal roofs.

 

The Utility System, exclusively by S-5!, enables easy attachment of almost any conceivable utility application, including: signs, banners, light fixtures, gas piping, antennas, roof walkways, HVAC equipment, lightning protection systems, condensate lines, stack/flue bracing, fascias, equipment screens, electrical conduit, antennas, cabling, and more.|


The Utility System can be rotated 360° for orientation versatility only S-5! provides.


The new X-Gard and the S-5! Utility System are both mechanically attached with patented round-point setscrews, gripping the seam securely without penetration and without damage to the panel’s protective finishes. The setscrews will slightly dimple the metal seam material without piercing it, leaving roof manufacturers’ warranties intact.
