Portable solar generator powers jobsites

Spirit of the Sun Solar Systems (S.O.S), LLC has developed a state-of-the-art solar generator that supplies all the power needed (and then some) to run saws, drills, vacuums, sanders, planers, routers, fans, lighting and even refrigeration on the job site.

Dan Jones, founder and president of S.O.S. Solar Systems, describes himself as  an environmentalist with sophisticated electrician/carpenter/design and construction skills. He became interested in solar generators to power his hunting camps in New York and soon realized solar generators were a “necessity tool” for the construction industry.

While visiting his sister he saw what a perfect setting Arizona is for solar energy in general, including solar generators.  Now, he runs all his own power carpentry equipment from the prototype he designed and built.

In a press release, Jones, the inventor/entrepreneur, says “Heck. The possibilities for the mobile, solar generator in the construction industry are huge.  As long as there are job sites that don’t have available grid power, there are places that need solar generators.

High Res Media, LLC (www.HighResMediaLLC.com), an Arizona Corporation that photographs high-end homes at twilight, uses S.O.S. Solar Generators to fuel operations.  They are usually asked by the guards at gated communities, when they show up for shoots, “Will you be using a generator?”

They smile and say, “We are.  A completely silent, no moving parts/no fumes SOLAR generator!  We are powering by sun collected over a month ago.”   They are granted instant admission.

When people view the solar generator, they are enchanted and impressed,” says Kris Shane, co-owner of High Res Media.

The S.O.S. Solar Generator saves High Res Media around $500 per week in gas to run conventional gas generators, said High Res Media co-owner Anthony Benton.
Spirit of the Sun Solar Systems was incorporated in April 2008 in Arizona.

Its mandate is to provide mobile, solar energy to settings which otherwise have no power such as construction sites, recreational vehicles, golf courses, outdoor light displays, hunting camps, disaster relief/emergency response sites, weddings, sporting events and others.

“Power to the People, Naturally” is S.O.S. Solar Systems slogan. All solar generators are custom built under the supervision of Dan Jones, a former electrical technician with IBM for over 20 years. Jones and his sister Debra, are managing members of S.O.S. Solar Systems. RB
