DeWalt supports the 2008 Regional Equipment Theft Summits organized by FBI–Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) and the National Equipment Register (NER), a national database of equipment ownership. Ten educational summits held in various U.S. cities will provide product demonstrations, seminars and advice on how to reduce the growing occurrence of equipment theft. 

Summits bring together law enforcement officials, equipment owners and insurers to provide educational sessions on theft prevention and recovery. Attendees can demo the latest theft prevention and recovery technologies.

Allied Building Products gets Forest Stewardship nod

Allied Building Products Corp., distributor of residential and commercial roofing, siding, waterproofing, windows and interior/exterior building materials, has earned the nationally recognized Forest Stewardship Council’s Chain-of-Custody certification (SW-COC-003086) through the Rainforest Alliance’s SmartWood program.

A non-profit organization, the Forest Stewardship Council encourages responsible management of forests and sets high standards to ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable way. As a Chain-of-Custody distributor, Allied Building Products grants its customers the option to identify and choose Forest Stewardship Council’s certified products knowing there is a system in place to verify the sources of the wood used to manufacture the products and provides a link between responsible production and consumption.

Allied Building Products’ residential and commercial sales teams are now able to bid on projects that are seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) designation. With over 200 locations nationwide, Allied Building Products has 27 Forest Stewardship Council certified branches across the country.

GlasRoc gets long-term weather exposure warranty

CertainTeed Corporation has extended its weather exposure limited warranty to 12 months for all GlasRoc Exterior Sheathing purchased after January 1, 2008.

GlasRoc EGRG technology combines reinforcing glass mats, which are fully-embedded into a water-resistant gypsum core and positioned beneath a paperless polymer-modified gypsum surface, and a protective acrylic coating on the exterior face. Designed to cut like regular gypsum board, GlasRoc is lightweight for ease of installation.

Moisture- and mold-resistant, high-strength and uniformly flat, GlasRoc can be used for new construction or renovations over steel or wood framing.  Applications include conventional stucco, exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), cavity walls and various exterior claddings. GlasRoc Sheathing conforms to ASTM C 1177 and applicable sections of ASTM C 931 and C 79.

Premier Building Systems debuts new web site
Premier Building Systems, North American manufacturer of structural insulated panels (SIPs), has created a new web site for builders, architects, distributors and homeowners. The site, www.pbssips.com , provides insight and information regarding Premier and its energy-efficient and environmentally friendly SIPs products and accessories.

The site’s five primary sections focus on product information, builders, architects, distributors and homeowners, providing information on features and benefits of Premier’s SIPs for each specific audience.

A project profile page highlights a variety of Premier projects across the globe. Users can view projects by clicking on one of six regions — Northwest, Southwest, North Central, South Central, Eastern and International.

5 contractors each win year’s worth of gas valued at $2,100
Allied Building Products Corp., distributor of residential and commercial roofing, siding, waterproofing, windows and interior products, named five winners of its “AlliedBuilding.com Free Gas Giveaway.”

Each winner will receive a gift card of $175 per month for the next 12 months, totaling $2,100. Winners were selected at random upon the completion of the contest, which ran from November 1, 2007 through January 11, 2008. Entries were limited to construction industry professionals.
