As standards and expectations in green building and design evolve, so must products in the architectural industry. This week, Valspar will showcase its leadership in sustainability at this year’s Greenbuild International Conference & Expo. Greenbuild focuses on innovation, thoughtfulness and sustainability in the building industry. In addition to the exhibitors and educational opportunities, each year the conference features a unique, sustainable installation. The installation—part of Building Design+Construction’s (BD+C) GreenZone—finds a permanent home within a community following the conclusion of the show.
Valspar partnered with BD+C on this year’s installation, The Growing Green Center, which will eventually live in Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, Maryland. The Center features wall and roof panels adorned in Valspar’sFluropon SR coating in Light Silver Metallic and will serve as a space for community activities, training programs and workshops put on by the People & Parks Foundation.
“We are thrilled to contribute to The Growing Green Center at this year’s Greenbuild International Conference,” said Jeff Alexander, vice president of sales for Valspar. “We strive to keep innovation and sustainability at the forefront of all our business decisions. The GreenZone installation showcases Valspar’s ongoing commitment to both responsible building practices and the enrichment of local communities by providing an outlet for further exploration of sustainable living.”
