by  Press release
Mart Inc., an Irving, Texas, general contracting firm and an independent authorized Varco Pruden Builder, has been awarded the annual United States Chamber of Commerce Blue Ribbon Small Business Award for 2009.

The award honors businesses that demonstrate excellence in a variety of categories, including financial performance and business history, staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service and business planning. Tim Proctor, Vice President of Mart, Inc., will attend the America's Small Business Summit 2009 in Washington, D.C. on May 11-13 to receive the award.
Mart Inc. is one of 56 small businesses throughout the nation to receive this award, which is sponsored by Sam's Club.

"We are extremely grateful and honored as recipients of this prestigious award," Proctor said "We believe that great companies should value the importance of customer care, employee relations and community involvement as much as financial growth. Sometimes, small companies can make the biggest difference."

As an independent authorized Varco Pruden Builder, Mart Inc. is part of a network of approximately 1,000 authorized builders in the United States and Canada. Varco Pruden is one of the nation's leading providers of metal building systems and is a division of BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc.
