A new version of the Propane Technical Pocket Guide, from the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), features updated data and guidance for construction professionals on propane installation for residential and commercial building projects.
The guide was created to support the use of propane in residential construction and now covers such topics as determining total British thermal unit load, vaporization rates, storage tank location and installation, site diagrams, and pipe sizing.
“The Propane Technical Pocket Guide is intended to be a general reference with key data and answers to important questions relevant to construction professionals planning to incorporate propane in their projects,” said Bridget Kidd, PERC’s director of residential and commercial programs. “It’s not a replacement for proper training on the installation and start-up of propane systems.”
The new guide includes a directory of online PERC resources, including a tool to find a propane retailer in your area, Kidd noted.
The Propane Technical Pocket Guide is available for free download at buildwithpropane.com where you’ll also find news on building products and trends, information on construction-related events, conferences and conventions, and continuing education courses for construction professionals.
