The new metal roofing product manufactured by Classic Metal Roofing Systems, Inc. of Ohio looks like real slate and is available in several color options.
Classic Metal Roofs, LLC, completed the installation of a new Oxford “Slate Rock” aluminum metal roofing shingle on a project in North Easton, MA. The roofing style is not only the first in the New England region, but the first in the United States to be installed.
The new metal roofing product is manufactured from 95 percent recycled aluminum, from post-consumer sources.
This, along with the “Slate Rock’s” energy star rating due to its state-of-the-art coating process, makes it one of the most desirable roofing options for the green market.
“The ‘Slate Rock’ aluminum metal shingle is clearly the product of choice for those looking to replace their old slate roofs,” said Mike Gonet, senior partner with Classic Metal Roofs. “It’s also ideal for designers, architects, building contractors or homeowners desiring the look of slate, but who want all the advantages of aluminum metal roofing. The product weighs only a fraction of the weight and cost of a slate roof, which makes it an option for just about any home with a roof of 3/12 pitch or greater.”
The product line offers one of the highest wind ratings in all metal roofing and is Miami Dade County approved. The product bodes extremely well in high wind areas. Also, according to Gonet, the roofing style is the perfect choice for coastal and lake front properties. One of the key factors in installation of the product is the clip system attachment, which is believed to be one of the most effective ways to install any metal roof and the backbone of all architectural style metal roofs.
The product was installed on one of the many buildings at the Natural Resource Trust, NRT, in North Easton, MA. The product installation included a copper patina (verdigris) finish over aluminum on all of the trim work and ridge cap. The trim is available in the same color as the shingle or in an aged copper finish (more like bronze), as well.
