The 2012 International Roofing Expo is offering attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to give back to the Orlando, Fla., community during Community Service Day on February 21, 2012.
Held from 9:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m., Community Service Day is a home renovation and revitalization project that will be performed on homes of families that are elderly, disabled or financially unable to support the renovation. The exact families in need will be assigned closer to the event.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the local Orlando community and help those less fortunate,” says Lindsay Roberts, director of the Expo. “The renovations made to these homes will make a real difference in the lives of the family.”
Skilled and unskilled volunteers are needed to help with the renovations. Skilled volunteers will perform a variety of construction disciplines including roofing, interior/exterior painting, flooring and minor carpentry. Unskilled volunteers will help with set up, clean up and other miscellaneous projects. Working under the direction of a crew chief, all volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be asked to sign a Waiver of Liability Form.
Community Service Day is sponsored by Sika Sarnafil, (booth #525). Sika Sarnafil offers roofing and waterproofing systems that are widely recognized for exemplifying the highest standards of quality, reliability and watertight protection.
The event is also held in conjunction with NRCA’s Disaster Relief Committee and the Central Florida chapter of Rebuilding Together.
