Shield Wall Media is announcing a new award to recognize those who have made significant impacts on the growth or development of the construction trade. Called the Shield Wall Media Building Progress Award, it replaces the Metal Roofing Hall of Fame and the Rural Builder Hall of Fame programs that ran for many years. Those separate awards are now being combined into a single program. The process is briefly outlined here, with more information to come.
- One award will be given per year.
- Anyone in the construction industry can nominate one or more candidates.
- Individuals previously awarded the Metal Roofing Hall of Fame or Rural Builder Hall of Fame are eligible.
- Once a nominee has been vetted as qualified, a professional profile will be published online and in all Shield Wall Media titles (time permitting).
- The Nomination Period closes December 31, 2021, when voting will commence. Ballots will be published in each of our magazines, distributed via email, and available online.
- Voting will continue through the final day of the 2022 Construction Rollforming Show. Voting is limited to one vote per person.
- The nominee with the most votes will be announced at the 2022 Garage, Shed & Carport Builder Show and will be bestowed the honor of the very first Shield Wall Media Building Progress Award.
- Additionally, Shield Wall Media will donate $1,000 to the charity of the recipient’s choice (subject to approval; must be a 501(c)(3)).
- Non-winning nominations will be rolled over and included on the next year’s ballot.
